Parakeet Chat is a next generation tech service for inmates, enabling them to stay in touch with their friends/ families via Email and SMS, read Wikipedia, look up words in the dictionary, and more!
Features
Inmates can send messages to Parakeet Chat (through Corrlinks) in order to use the following features.
Emails
Your loved one can send and receive emails directly.
They can send emails to any email address (even if the recipient is not on Corrlinks).
They will have their own unique email address generated for them.
SMS Messaging
Your loved one can send (and receive) SMS messages directly, without you having to log into Corrlinks.
Emoji support 😻
Emojis 🥰 in your Emails or SMS sent to your loved ones will be converted to emoji codes for them to read. Your loved ones can also use Emoji codes to include emoji in their messages to you 😳.
Web Search
Search the internet and read websites using a text interface.
Photo Delivery
Requires an extra fee.Send your photos to your loved ones, go to parakeet.chat/photos for details.
Upload your photo files via your smartphone or laptop and we will format, print, and ship them to your incarcerated loves ones.
All photos are printed on high quality glossy 4" x 6" (aka "normal" size) photographs and shipped via USPS to your loved one.
Wikipedia
Search for and read articles from the largest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia
Personal Number
Requires an extra fee of $5.00/moInstead of using the common phone number for SMS, you can choose your own phone number (you can pick your area code).
All messages sent to your personal number will be directed straight to you, regardless of whether other users are also messaging the same outside phone number.
Plus, you can give your phone number to outsiders and they can message you first, you don't have to initiate a conversation.
Dictionary
Look up and define words in the dictionary.
Horoscope
Check your daily Horoscope.
Urban Dictionary
Look up and define slang words on Urban Dictionary.
Lyrics
Your loved ones can look up the lyrics for their favorite songs.
ChatGPT
Your loved ones can ask questions and engage in conversation with the latest ChatGPT-4 model.
